PM Surya Ghar Subsidy Calculator
Subsidy is not a flat percentage. It is paid in slabs and it stops at a fixed amount. This shows exactly what you will get and where it stops.
The formula
What this assumes
- Verify current subsidy amounts on the official PM Surya Ghar portal before you pay anyone. Scheme rules change.
- Subsidy is only for residential connections, not commercial or industrial.
- You must use a vendor listed on the national portal. Subsidy on an outside vendor is rejected.
- Money comes to your bank account after installation and inspection, not before. You pay the full amount first.
- State subsidy figures vary and some states have none at all.
Common questions
How much subsidy will I get for 3 kW?
Rs 78,000 from the centre. That is the maximum. Your state may add more on top, which the calculator shows if your state has a scheme.
Why do I get the same subsidy for 8 kW as for 3 kW?
Because central subsidy is capped at Rs 78,000. It is paid only on the first 3 kW. Every kilowatt after that is at full price. This is the single most important thing to understand before you size a system.
When will the subsidy money come?
After the system is installed, inspected and your net meter is fitted. Realistically expect one to three months after commissioning, sometimes longer. You must pay the vendor the full amount upfront.
Why do subsidy applications get rejected?
Most common reasons: the vendor was not registered on the national portal, the connection is not residential, the bank details did not match, or the installed capacity did not match the application.
Is the subsidy a discount on the bill?
No. You pay the vendor the full amount. The subsidy is transferred to your bank account later.
