By using this site you accept these terms.

1. What this site is

Solaraytics provides estimating tools for rooftop solar in India. It is an information service. We are not installers, not dealers, not consultants, and not connected to any government scheme, ministry or DISCOM.

2. We cannot promise you a subsidy

Nothing here is a determination of your eligibility. Only the official PM Surya Ghar portal and your DISCOM can confirm what you will receive. Our subsidy figures reflect scheme parameters as we last understood them, and those parameters change.

Verify the current amount on the official portal before you pay any vendor. If our figure and the portal disagree, the portal is right.

3. Savings projections are projections

Our 25-year figures assume 0.6% annual panel degradation and roughly 4% annual tariff escalation. The degradation figure follows manufacturer warranties. The tariff figure is based on past trends and nobody can promise future tariffs. If tariffs rise more slowly, your savings will be lower than shown.

Inverter replacement, usually needed once between years 10 and 15, is not included.

4. Generation estimates assume an ideal roof

Output figures assume a roughly south-facing roof with no shading. Shade is the single largest destroyer of real output and cannot be assessed from a web form. A site survey will find things this calculator never can.

5. State rules change

Net metering, net billing and gross metering regimes, tariff slabs and feed-in rates vary by state and are revised by regulators on their own schedule. Several states have changed regime in recent years. Confirm the current rule with your DISCOM before deciding a system size — that decision is expensive to reverse.

6. No liability

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for loss arising from decisions made using it — including a system sized wrongly, a subsidy that did not arrive, or savings that fell short of a projection.

7. Using our content

Read, calculate and share links freely. Republishing our guides, tables or benchmark data elsewhere, or scraping the site automatically, is not permitted. Cite a figure and link back instead.

8. No commercial relationships

No affiliate links, no commission, no lead selling, no paid placement. No installer, brand or financier pays to appear here or to influence a calculation. There is no quote form on this site and we will never ask for your phone number.

9. Availability

We do not promise the site will always be up, and we will change figures when schemes change. That means a result you saw last month may compute differently today — which is the correct behaviour, not a fault.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Ahmedabad have jurisdiction.
