Verify subsidy figures yourself
This is the most important line on this page. Subsidy amounts and scheme rules change. Before you pay any vendor, check the current amounts on the official PM Surya Ghar portal and confirm the process with your DISCOM.
We are not connected to the scheme, any government body or any DISCOM. We cannot approve, process or chase your subsidy.
About the numbers
Generation
Generation estimates use average sun hours for your region and a standard loss factor. Real output depends on your roof direction, tilt, shading, dust, temperature and equipment quality. Shade in particular can cut output far more than people expect.
Payback and savings
Our 25 year projection assumes 0.6% panel ageing and 4% tariff rise each year. The ageing figure matches manufacturer warranties. The tariff figure is based on past trends and nobody can promise future tariffs. If tariffs rise slower, your savings will be lower.
Inverter replacement, usually needed once around year 12 to 15, is not included. Budget Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 for it.
Net metering
State policies change, sometimes without much notice. Several states have moved from net metering to net billing in recent years. Confirm the current rule with your DISCOM before deciding your system size.
System cost
Cost benchmarks are market averages. Actual quotes vary with equipment brand, roof type, structure height and your location.
We are not solar consultants
These are planning tools. For an actual installation, get a site survey and a written quotation from a vendor listed on the national portal. A site visit will find things a calculator never can, especially shading.
